This is the foundation. Our original forged 80% lower, stripped down to its bare essentials. We’re talking raw, uncoated 7075-T6 aluminum, just as it comes off the forge. No anodizing, no cerakote, nothing between you and the metal. We started offering this because guys kept asking for it—serious builders who want total control from the ground up.
If you’ve got a specific paint, camo pattern, or custom coating in mind, this is your starting block. You don’t have to spend time or money stripping off a factory finish. It’s pre-stripped. Degrease it, prep it, and apply your finish. It’s that simple.
Beyond the raw finish, this is the same mil-spec forged lower we’ve built our reputation on. The dimensions, the broached magwell, the fire/safe engravings—it’s all identical to our finished units. You’re getting a blank canvas that’s still a precision-machined part.
Why Choose the Raw 80% Lower?
- Your Finish, Your Way: Apply DuraCoat, Cerakote, Aluma-Hyde, or even a professional anodizing. The raw surface provides optimal adhesion for any coating you choose.
- No Finish to Remove: Save time and chemicals. You skip the messy step of stripping a hard anodized layer, which is a major hassle.
- Proven Forged Strength: 7075-T6 aluminum forgings are the standard for a reason. They’re tough, they handle stress, and they last. This isn’t cast or billet—it’s forged.
- True Mil-Spec Fitment: This isn’t “mil-spec style.” It’s cut to true mil-spec dimensions. Your LPK, upper receiver, and buffer tube will fit right, no play, no fuss.
- Clear Fire/Safe Markings: The selector engravings are deep and clean. When you’re done, whether you paint or coat, these markings will remain legible and professional.

Important Notes for Builders
This is an 80% lower receiver. It requires machining to complete. You need a jig, tools (router or drill press), and the knowledge to finish it legally. We don’t sell jigs or finishing tools with this raw lower.
Handle with care before finishing. Raw aluminum can scratch and will develop a light, natural oxide layer (a dull gray film) if left unprotected. This is normal and will not affect function, but it should be cleaned off before applying your final finish.
Preparation is key. Before applying any paint or coating, you MUST thoroughly degrease the lower (use acetone or brake cleaner) and lightly abrade the surface with a Scotch-Brite pad or fine grit sandpaper for proper adhesion. Follow your coating manufacturer’s instructions precisely.
This part is intended for legal manufacturing of a firearm for personal use. You must be of legal age and not prohibited from possessing firearms. It is your responsibility to understand and comply with all federal, state, and local laws.
Ready to build from the metal up? The raw forged lower is for the builder who doesn’t want any compromises. You pick the final color, the final texture, the final look. Add it to your cart, finish it right, and build a rifle that’s truly one-of-a-kind.</p
